Fatigue Recovery IV

IV Therapy · VEI Clinic, Gangnam, Seoul

A fatigue recovery IV combines fluids with nutrients such as B vitamins, vitamin C and magnesium for people who feel run down after travel, long work weeks or a recent illness. At VEI Clinic in Apgujeong, Gangnam, an internal medicine specialist first asks why you are tired, then decides whether an IV is appropriate and what goes into it.

What Is a Fatigue Recovery IV?

It is a supportive drip. Some people feel lighter after rehydration and nutrient support, but there are few studies supporting vitamin IVs for people without a deficiency. We talk through realistic expectations before you decide.

What’s in the Drip (Varies by Patient)

  • Fluids and electrolytes for rehydration
  • B vitamins, including vitamin B1 as fursultiamine (known in Korea as the garlic injection), whose approved use is vitamin B1 deficiency, when irregular meals or frequent alcohol use make a deficiency likely
  • Vitamin C
  • Magnesium and other minerals, case by case

The doctor chooses the formulation after your check. Depending on your goals, a Myers’ cocktail or an NAD+ IV may be suggested instead.

When Fatigue Needs a Check First

Tiredness that lasts for several weeks deserves a look for its cause. Depending on your symptoms, we may suggest blood tests for anemia, thyroid function, liver function or vitamin B12 before, or alongside, an IV.

If tiredness comes with chest pain, severe breathing difficulty or fainting, call 119 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than booking an IV.

Who It May Suit

  • Travelers worn out after long flights and busy days in Seoul
  • People who ate and drank less than usual after being unwell
  • People run down after a heavy stretch of work who want to discuss fluid and nutrient support alongside sleep, diet and stress management

Safety First

Please tell us in advance if you have kidney, heart or liver disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, G6PD deficiency or a history of kidney stones, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Also tell us about iron overload (hemochromatosis); high-dose vitamin C can strain the kidneys or carry a risk of hemolysis in some patients, so we decide on it with care.

During the drip you may briefly feel chills or flushing, notice a metallic or garlic-like taste, or have vein irritation or a small bruise. Rarely, allergic reactions such as a rash, itching or a drop in blood pressure occur; tell us if you have reacted to a vitamin B1 injection before. If dizziness persists or you have chest pain or trouble breathing, tell the medical staff right away.

Questions

Will a fatigue recovery IV fix my tiredness?

It can support hydration and nutrient intake, and it can replenish a vitamin that tests show is low. Other causes of ongoing tiredness need their own care, so if it lasts for weeks we recommend finding out why first.

How is it different from a Myers’ cocktail?

A Myers’ cocktail typically combines magnesium, calcium, B vitamins and vitamin C, tailored after your consultation. A fatigue recovery IV starts from why you are tired and may be a Myers’-style drip, a B vitamin drip or simple rehydration, depending on what the doctor finds.

Why might I notice a garlic-like taste?

Vitamin B1 in the form of fursultiamine can cause a brief garlic-like smell or taste during the drip. It contains no garlic, and the sensation soon passes.

Can I have it the day after drinking alcohol?

It can be given with fluids, but if you have severe vomiting or dizziness, the doctor examines you first.

Can I book it before or after a long flight?

Yes. Many travelers come in after landing or before flying home. Tell us your flight times so the doctor can plan around them.
